We have just recently returned from our trip to Japan, and I will tell you a bit about Tokyo.
Tokyo is an amazingly huge city whose metropolitan area houses the equivalent of the population of California. It has a large assortment of things to do, and we did not even scratch the surface. On our first day in Tokyo we stayed with a family whom we are friends with, in their Tokyo apartment. They took us out to have Italian food, and then we went to sing karaoke, which was very fun. We had a private room, and the song selection was extensive.
We made it to our hotel on the second day and found out it was right next to the Studio Ghibli Clock, a clock designed by Hayao Miyazaki, the director of movies like “Spirited Away” and “My Neighbor Totoro.” That night we took the subway to Shinjuku, one of the busiest stations in the world. Following that, we returned to Haneda airport before heading home. I definitely recommend visiting Japan as it is an experience entirely different from anything you’ll encounter anywhere else. Japan has a truly unique culture and history, and being able to be a part of that was inspiring.
